This is THE dinner of the trip. Hundreds of real candles, a vine-covered terrace over the church dome, cliffside to the sea, live guitar and mandolin. One Michelin star. Confirmed in Halen's name.

Dress: smart casual, no shorts, tank tops, or baseball caps — jackets welcome but not required. Nightcap after at Don't Worry Bar downstairs.

  • Spiaggia Grande — the main beach, rent loungers (Bagni d'Arienzo is reliable)
  • Fornillo Beach — 10 minutes on foot west, quieter and cheaper, a scenic cliff path to get there
  • Path of the Gods — a 7km ridge trail, moderate fitness; bus to Nocelle and walk down, or reverse
  • Ferry to Amalfi town — 30 minutes, no booking needed; cathedral, cloister, granita
  • Amalfi & Ravello — combine the ferry with a bus or taxi up to Ravello for Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone's gardens
  • Limoncello di Positano, Via dei Mulini — free tasting, made from the local lemons
